Dance

Born in Washington DC, I began my dance training with Jane Bittner and trained extensively with several other renowned teachers including Dawei Zhang, Suzanne Farrell, Patricia McBride, Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Violette Verdy, and Truman Finney. I have been fortunate enough to have performed the works of Balanchine (“Serenade,” “Concerto Barocco,” “Western Symphony”), Paul Taylor (“Esplanade,” “Images,””Last Look”), Doug Varone (“Eclipse”), Kate Weare, and Stephen Mills among many others.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Ballet and French at Indiana University’s prestigious School of Music and began my professional career as an apprentice with Ballet Austin where I performed with the company for three seasons. I also danced with Kim Robards Dance in Denver, with whom I later joined as a guest artist at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

For eight seasons I was a member of Washington DC’s CityDance Ensemble under the direction of Paul Gordon Emerson. I had the incredible opportunity to perform, tour, and teach with the company throughout the United States and internationally to the Middle East (Jordan, Israel, Bahrain, UAE, Palestine), Eastern Europe (Lithuania, Poland, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia), South America (Chile), Russia and Eurasia (Kazakhstan, Belarus) working through the U.S. Department of State as a Cultural Ambassador.

I have served as Rehearsal Director for Christopher K. Morgan & Artists, Adjunct Professor in the Dance Department at American University, Pilates Instructor for the dancers of Akhmedova Ballet Academy and faculty member of CityDance Conservatory.  I completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
